“In a world where everyone is always busy and interests are so diverse, training as a family provides us with an opportunity to do something fun together. It also gives us an opportunity to learn a useful skill and help each other in its development. Training together transcends generation gaps and is a way of staying together as a family.”
- Laura Azizo
Here at the United Martial Arts Centers, we specialize in a family program. Our family classes are designed to give both the parents and the children an opportunity to train in the same class at the same time. We have family classes every day of the week, sometimes two classes a night in all of our locations.
The greatest feature of the family program is that everyone in the family is sharing from the benefits of the Martial Arts. What even is better , is that the program also brings families closer together. In a society where the majority of the families have both parents work and the children are always running from one activity to the next, Taekwondo is an opportunity for the family to do something fun together. It is also a time where the family could work together to reach common goals.
The children love the program because they get to spend more quality time with their parents while having a lot of fun. They see their parents as a partner, not as the authoritarian. The result is a much stronger, loving relationship between parent and child.
The parents love our program because they get to spend more time with their children. They spend all day at work away from them, they now have an opportunity to share something so beneficial for the family as Taekwondo. They also love it because they get to witness their children being successful, and they are a part of that success. Parents also love the side benefits such as losing weight, reducing stress, learning self-defense and gaining the positive, “Yes I Can, “attitude.
The traditional family as we all know it does not exist too often any more. The children and parents are always running from one place to another. At the United Martial Arts Centers, we are determined to bring families closer together one family at a time. We always must remember that, “The Family that Kicks Together, Sticks Together”.
