1.Your Sabumnim has always put the Dojang first in his life and his personal life second. He has made many sacrifices and suffered many losses to be able to teach you and he will continue to do so when it is necessary.
2.Your Sabumnim is always thinking about you, your progress, and the entire Dojang. It is usually the first thing and th last thing for him each and every day. His mission is to constantly provide for you the possibility and the opportunity to become a Master so you can develop the peace and power and skills to navigate you life to a place of fulfillment.
3.Your Sabumnim will not give up on you. Your Sabumnim wants everyone to have the same opportunities to learn as much as you can and grow as much as possible in a healthy and save environment and manner. Your Sabumnim will never give up on you if you don’t give up on yourself.
4.Your Sabumnim prefers those who talk about solutions to those who talk about problems. He prefers those who treat others with respect to those who treat others with hostility and disregard.
5.Your Sabumnim does have favorites, they are those who follow the rules and the principles of the Dojang and set a good example.
6.Your Sabumnim always sees you much bigger and greater than you see yourself and he will bring that out of you if you just trust and find the courage to take action and stand in your greatness. He can awaken the sleeping giant inside you.
7.Your Sabumnim may appear at times to be doing nothing or not busy, but he may praying, meditating, communicating with his masters, communing with a deceased loved one, or planning your future in the martial arts. So it is best not to disturb him.
8.Your Sabumnim is very sensitive to energy. He sees the unseen and hears the inaudible. So sometimes he needs to create space and distance from harmful, negative, mental, emotional and spiritual energies, just like we would kike to avoid biological and chemical weapons or harmful agents of that nature. Sometimes he needs to recover form exposure just like you would have to after catching meningitis or the flu.
9.Your Sabumnim live in the DO and therefore live in a different reality than most people and you may have to learn to think and live out of the box to come to that space of realization and understanding.
10.Your Sabumnim cares more about you than the President does, more that the Governor, the Mayor, the Surgeon General, the Police Chief, Con Edison and most of the people you know. His heart is a very big space.
